Third Presbyterian Church has been a part of the Enos Park Neighborhood since 1890 when the church building was erected at the corner of 7th Street and Bergen. For over 130 years, families from across Springfield’s north side have worshiped and ministered at Third Presbyterian Church.

This relationship with the neighborhood continues as Third Presbyterian partners with the Enos Park Neighborhood Improvement Association in many ways including: a place to gather for their regular meetings; support for all their neighborhood gathering events; coordination and promotion of Enos Park Events.  Third Presbyterian also continues a dynamic outreach program for the Community which includes:  A place for Parent Training though the Mini O’beirne Crisis Nursery which is located across the street; a program on Sunday Morning for Elementary Youth called Kids Klub and a program for Junior High and High School called the Gathering; regular Friday Family Fun Nights; a place for weekly gatherings of a program called COMPASS; a summer clubs program featuring seven different workshops for elementary age youth; community driven activities such as wellness clinics and vaccination clinics.  The church also collects food items for three local food pantries and in the summer of 2021, the church hosted a Mission Trip of High Schoolers from Michigan.

The church also provides space and financial support for the Northside Children’s Community Library which is housed in the downstairs and serves neighborhood students, especially from McClernand School.

Third Presbyterian also hosts a radio worship service each Sunday morning on SportsRadio 1450 AM and 92.3 FM from 9 until 9:30.  This is a separate worship from the regular in-person worship.  In-person happens at 10:00 am each Sunday morning and is a blend of a variety of music including Contemporary Christian Songs with our Praise Team; Anthems provided by the church choir, Adult Hand Bells; the A Capella Praise Team; special music presentations with guest artists; and hymns.  The church also projects images and video on a screen in the front of the sanctuary to enhance the worship experience.  Worship is about 50 minutes in length, is full of energy and messages based on Biblical Truths, is casual, and open and affirming to all.

Third Presbyterian looks forward to many more years in the Enos Park Neighborhood and the partnerships to be developed as we minister in the name of Jesus Christ.
